A Grade Ahead’s 1st grade math enrichment classes introduce day-to-day mathematical concepts and topics. Students will learn methods to solving real-life mathematical problems in our 1st grade curriculum and pave the path to a successful academic career. Building a love of reading and writing through phonics, sight words, parts of speech, and sentence skills — laying the foundation for a lifetime of confident communication.
A Grade Ahead’s 1st grade English enrichment classes help students to begin reading and writing with ease. Students become familiar with phonics and sight words to improve their reading fluency and comprehension skills. Students become familiar with parts of speech and begin to develop sentence writing skills. Additionally, students practice comprehension and writing skills with short stories that are aligned with a vocabulary list. Students will enhance language arts skills such as:
